Throwing Paint on the Canvas

I was cruising around You Tube and discovered a fantastic artist, Jonas Gerard.
Once in a while, you run into somebody that touches your soul. Gerard did that for me today. To watch him paint to music and release his power house of energy is truly inspiring.

I continued to watch in fascination. One of the impressive things of course is the sheer size of his wonderful abstract paintings. He loves being a showman and performing. The canvases are huge and the paint he uses is set up in buckets and ready to go. His colors are delicious. It looks like he's using house painting brushes. He paints in front of an audience and prefers live musicians--of course. It's as he says, this is "almost a happening event". He literally throws paint at the canvas --which I love. I remember what a fellow artist says on her website, "Life is like a big canvas...we should throw as much paint at it as we can!" k. Madison Moore".
The Interview: Gerard said things in his interview and used words I'd not heard before regarding art and life, but I immediately identified with. He said he spent his whole life in a process of "defogging". Now he'd found his muse. I said that phrase over and over to myself all day....de-fogging. I know exactly what it means. This is exactly how I feel at this point in my life--like I'm finally able to de-fog all the years of extraneous information and influences and achieve clarity through painting. I can't wait to get those big canvases.

When I grow up, I want huge canvases, big fun brushes, thrilling live music and the freedom to paint as I want to. Let it be the fullest experience that painting can be.
